Mar City Developments have recently acquired the 13.0 acre former Gas Works site from National Grid Plc.

Having the benefit of outline planning permission for a variety of employment uses, including retail, car showroom and distribution. The first phase of the site is due to be on site in May 2008 to begin work on a 40,000 sq ft  warehouse unit and a further 30,000 sq ft of trade counter units. There has already been strong interest in the scheme from potential occupiers

Nottingham City Council has identified the former Gas Works as a major regeneration site on the periphery of the City Centre, with close proximity to motorway networks (M1).
