Former use:

Historically, the site was previously used for industrial purposes since 1903 and comprised of two main foundry buildings, associated offices and storage facilities.

Site constriants:

The sites former uses had resulted in the presence of hydro-carbons and heavy metal contaminates. These constraints required Mar City Developments Limited to devise a full remediation strategy which had the approval of the Environment Agency for residential use.

Proposed Development:

At an early stage in acquiring the site Mar City Developments identified the opportunity for a potential change of use from industrial to residential which the company pursued and obtained. The sites dilapidated buildings made any reuse or redevelopment of them for industrial use uneconomical.
